Hi there, Welcome—happy to have you here! You’ll find there’s so much to explore on Dwell.com, but I wanted to share a few of my favorites with you. Nearly every summer, my family squeezes into a lakeside cottage in Northern Michigan. Its coral pink paint is chipped and fading, sand fills every crack in the floorboards, and the sofa sags, but I love it all the same. Some houses do that to us. With Camp Frio, architect Tim Cuppett perfectly captures this spirit of a family gathering place. It’s thoroughly modern, yes, but it evokes something so primal. We crave comfort, connection, the familiar. This Texas Hill Country home fosters just that. |

HOME TOURSThis multifamily vacation property outside of Austin perfectly embodies the “gezelligheid” spirit. |

We recently launched Dwell on This, a how-to series spearheaded by Gregory Han, a dear friend I met traveling last year. I may be biased, but I love how Gregory serves up snack-sized advice for switching it up at home. Can’t commit to painting your whole place? Paint your ceiling. Do it. Gregory will hold your hand through the process. |

I’ve worked from an outsize monitor on a wobbly desk in my sixth-floor walk-up since March of last year—and I count myself exceedingly lucky to do so. Even still, I often dream of a different setup altogether. Specifically, this one. Behold, the Kugelschiff. Robert Edmonds of Edmonds + Lee Architects turned a vintage Airstream Bambi II into this enviable live/work space. Is that the open road calling? |

RENOVATIONS + CAMPERS & TRAILERSAt just 80 square feet, The Kugelschiff is a renovated Airstream Bambi II that now serves as a tech entrepreneur’s tiny home and office. |
