n Wednesday evening, I co-hosted a dinner in Silicon Valley with model, entrepreneur, philanthropist and three-time WSJ. Magazine cover star Karlie Kloss to celebrate the intersection of style and tech. Sponsored by Loro Piana, and held at the restaurant Selby’s in Palo Alto, the event brought together a mix of luminaries in fashion, business and more, including design mastermind Sir Jony Ive, Anne Wojcicki of 23andMe, former Snap exec-turned-investor Ben Schwerin and Standford students and pals Phoebe Gates and Olympic skier Eileen Gu. This summer, Kloss’s organization, Kode With Klossy (KWK), will hold its eighth year of coding camps, awarding 5,000 scholarships to teenagers who identify as women or are gender nonconforming. The courses are offered in person and virtually, free of charge for all students. “I wanted young people to understand the infinite potential that exists at the intersection of creative industries and coding,” said Kloss, who also introduced the night’s attendees to KWK’s newly-named CEO, Osi Imeokparia. It was exciting to shine a light on Kloss’s incredible organization, as well as to connect with so many WSJ friends and readers on the West Coast. Take a look at photos from the event, as well as Elisa Lipsky-Karasz’s full recap, in the links below.
